Meet The Team: Shu Ming Goh

Name: Shu Ming Goh
Title: Senior Analyst, Real Estate Valuation Services
Office: London, UK

Day-to-day: At SitusAMC, I am part of the Real Estate Valuation Services (REVS) International team based in London, where we provide real estate valuation management, review and portfolio reporting services across diverse markets including the UK, Europe and Asia Pacific. Our work spans multiple asset classes in commercial real estate from offices and industrial units to retail assets. My role involves coordinating valuation reviews, managing portfolios and ensuring consistent reporting standards across jurisdictions. Each day brings a new challenge, often across time zones, and I enjoy the intellectual diversity and pace of the role.

My path: My journey to SitusAMC began during my time at the University of Reading, where I studied Real Estate Investment and Finance. During my degree, I took part in an event hosted by The Land Collective, a platform that promotes inclusion in the real estate sector. It was through this program that I discovered the internship opportunity at SitusAMC.  I joined as a summer intern and subsequently transitioned into a permanent role, a path that gave me both early exposure to the profession and a strong foundation for ongoing development.

Inspiration: One piece of advice that has stayed with me over the years comes from Taylor Swift: “Just be yourself, there is no one better.” It’s a simple yet powerful reminder that staying true to who you are is one of the most important things you can do, both in life and at work. Throughout her career, she has faced criticism, gone through major changes and continued to evolve, all while holding onto her identity. This quote encourages us to embrace our individuality and trust that our differences are a strength, not a weakness. In a fast-moving and competitive environment like ours, it’s easy to feel pressure to blend in or to second-guess yourself. But staying authentic helps build confidence, resilience and a sense of direction. It’s often our unique perspective and personality that bring real value to a team, and this quote is a helpful reminder not to lose sight of that.

My Country: I was born and raised in Penang, Malaysia. It is an island city known as the food capital of the country and rich in cultural heritage. Growing up near the sea, in a vibrant and diverse community, instilled in me both a strong sense of identity and a deep appreciation for multicultural perspectives. Those roots continue to influence how I connect with people from different backgrounds, which is essential in an international team like ours.

Hobbies: In my free time, I enjoy exploring the outdoors and taking on new challenges. I’ve participated in activities such as skydiving in Portugal, paragliding, surfing, archery, dog sledding, snowboarding, and even ocean floating. I find that physically demanding or adventurous pursuits not only help me recharge, but also sharpen my resilience and mental focus.

Courageous Decision: One of the most courageous decisions I’ve made in my adult life was moving to the UK for university and subsequently deciding to build a life and career here. Leaving home to pursue opportunities abroad thousands of miles from family, across a different climate, culture and time zone, was a defining moment for me. It taught me independence, adaptability and how to navigate uncertainty with confidence. It was not always easy, but the experience has been deeply rewarding and has strengthened my ability to thrive in new environments. From balancing spreadsheets to balancing mid-air during a skydive, my journey so far has been about embracing challenges, staying curious and pushing beyond comfort zones.
