SitusAMC Power Pro: Stephen Ricciardi

Name: Stephen Ricciardi

Title: Commercial Real Estate Technology Professional

How did you end up at SitusAMC?

Before SitusAMC I worked for a large investment bank with a multi-trillion-dollar balance sheet and thousands of colleagues. I wanted a more tight-knit, entrepreneurial firm where I could make a difference, and feel like I was moving the needle. I think the most growth happens when people notice your work, especially your failures, and show you how to improve.

What do you like most about your job?

I’m a relationship manager for SitusAMC’s Closer technology. We are in such a niche market, and not that many people have expertise in it. There’s no handbook to learn about CRE tech. You just have to dive into the product and really listen to your clients to understand their goals and challenges. My job is to fully learn about the client and present them with the innovations they need to advance their businesses, versus just waiting for them to come for help with an issue. Also our team is a family — I don’t want it to sound like a cliche -- but it’s a real family. We go out on weekends and have become friends.

What is one of your core values?

Teamwork. It’s not about what you do, but who you do it with. You can teach anyone anything, but it’s the synergy of the team that takes you to the next level.

Where did you grow up and go to college, and what was your first job out of school?

I grew up in Harrison, New York, about 20 miles north of Manhattan. I attended The United States Military Academy at West Point, and served as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army, responsible for a unit of 100 soldiers at Fort Hood.

How do you spend your time outside of work?

I’ve been an athlete my entire life and football is my passion. I played football in college, so you’re likely to find me doing anything involving the sport – whether it’s playing or watching college and NFL games.
