SitusAMC Power Pro: Kelly Jackson

Kelly Jackson, AVP, Primary Servicing

Office: Robbins, North Carolina; hybrid

Day-to-Day: Commercial loan servicing; following the loan lifecycle from beginning to end to protect lenders’ interest in a property.

Career Path: Graduated from Appalachian State University in 2008; started work as a bank teller; joined SitusAMC in October 2014 in her hometown of Robbins.

Younger me was determined to head to a big city and never look back, but I did just the opposite. My kids go to school at the same school I went to; I go to church with so many people I work with; my kids know my coworkers’ kids—it’s a great feeling.

On Work-Life Balance: I’ve been with SitusAMC nearly eight years and during that time I’ve only seen the company improve. My bosses really care about our teams, our work-life balance and our families. They realize when we need to increase staff and wages, and recognize that we’re now competing on a global scale. That’s all thanks to the leadership we have in place, and it’s only getting better from here.

Career Mentor: Donna Ring, VP of Primary Servicing, SitusAMC

Donna was my first manager at SitusAMC and she took me under her wing. She trusted me with projects, taught me everything I know and gave me access to all the tools and resources I needed to grow in my career. She is a wonderful mentor and leader.

Lightbulb Moment: It’s amazing the things you can accomplish when you look at new situations in a positive light.

Best Part of the Job: An all-star team.

I absolutely adore my team. They’re an incredible group of highly intelligent, witty, smart and thoughtful people—the best I’ve ever worked with. Everyone really understands their job, asks thoughtful questions and brings a different perspective to the team.

Outside of Work: I do a lot of local volunteering at my kids’ school and teaching at our church. As far as hobbies, I raise chickens, tend to my vegetable garden and enjoy foraging for local fruits. I write articles for my hometown newspaper and love to cook and bake. Some people would prefer to spend their free time traveling, but my day-to-day life is pretty sweet.

Words to Live By: Know your worth and add tax.

When you know your own worth, you can better understand what you’re saying ‘yes’ to and what you’re saying ‘no’ to, and how that impacts the way you spend your time. There can be a large price to always saying ‘yes,’ so it’s important to know what your boundaries are.
